Today's classes marked the start of a new quarter at college. While I have often glided through school due to what some would call "natural intelligence," I sicken myself. I have never tried to be my best in life; I have never taken a class where I have been satisfied with my grade. Although I often get A's, and maintain a 3.8 cumulative GPA, the manner in which I get them is unacceptable. So today, I have begun Operation Ubermensch. The Ubermensch, as Nietzsche coined it, is the ideal human. The person who strives for betterment of self each and every day.
This morning, I scrubbed my feet thoroughly, removing the grime from their soles. This morning, I woke up at 9:30am to buy my textbooks and do my laundry. This morning, I greeted the cashier with a smile and kind gratitude. This morning, I began my reign as the Ubermensch.

ReplyDeleteI took a similar decision the moment this year started. I want to improve as a man and a human being. I'm constantly learning from my mistakes, I'm improving my dictionary, started going to the gym and a few more. I'm on my way to achieve the "high tier" man. This is going to take years ...
